Our Economics Students Participate in the 2nd National Shipping Students Competition of CUT

The Department of Shipping at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), in Limassol, organised the 2nd National Shipping Students Competition on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The competition aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of and interest in the shipping industry.

Open to students from public and private schools across Cyprus, the competition featured educational seminars followed by a written test. The seminars were delivered by members of the Department’s academic staff and covered key areas of the shipping industry, including Introduction to Shipping, Basic Shipping Economics, Supply Chain and Port Issues, and Environmental Issues in Shipping.

All participants received a certificate of participation, while the two top-performing students will be announced at a later date and awarded cash prizes.

Our school was represented by students from Class 6 Economics, who had the opportunity to explore the shipping industry, broaden their knowledge, develop valuable skills, meet fellow students, and connect with the wider educational community beyond our school.

It was an inspiring and rewarding experience that broadened their horizons and contributed to their personal and academic development.
